![]() ![]() The applicant must have been/be able to successfully pass the eligibility requirements as required to hold the position of Deputy with the Christian County Sheriff's Patrol Division including: DEA TFOs may be required to attend training and travel outside the Springfield Metropolitan area for the purposes of these federal drug investigations. DEA TFO position is responsible for adopting local drug investigations as well as generating proactive drug cases that meet the standards for federal prosecution. The nature of the assignments requires this position to carry a work cell phone at all times and be available to work a flexible schedule that can change frequently with little notice. DEA TFOs will utilize surveillance tactics, highly technical equipment, and sophisticated prosecution strategies, as well as be involved in high-risk operations. This investigator will work in a plainclothes capacity and have regular interaction with outside law enforcement agencies and federal task forces. DEA TFOs perform covert and overt drug investigations to include but not limited to: controlled drug buys, search warrants, and knock and talks. The Sheriff"s Office assigns the DEA TFO position as an investigator to the DEA office in Springfield. The Christian County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for a full-time position of Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Task Force Officer (TFO).
